Mixing, granulation and drying are all critical processes within the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industries. Raw material components are blended together through a mixing process. Mixing creates a homogenous combination of two or more materials using specialized mixing equipment. Pharmaceutical granulations (wet) or tablet wet granulation is the ability of small particles to form larger particle agglomerates. This granulation process starts with micro-dispersed particles which form larger aggregations though use of a binding agent. The drying process applies heat, under atmospheric or vacuum pressures, to remove any liquid components (moistures) from these newly created mixtures and agglomerates.

ModWave and Lödige team members have extensive experience in mixing, pharmaceutical wet granulation and different drying processes. We will work closely with you in determining the best mixing, granulation and drying method, based on your specific batch or continuous manufacturing process. In a drying application, ModWave and Lödige will study your mixture or agglomerate components for heat sensitivity and if the material is able to withstand vacuum pressures for moisture removal.
